Walking for Madison and Austin
Madison was born in January 2005 with two very large holes in her heart. The doctors watched her very closely to make sure she was healthy. In July, Madison went into congestive heart failure and the doctors decided surgery was the best option. In August 2005 Madison had open heart surgery to repair ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) and VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect) as well as division of her vascular ring. The surgery was a success and Madison was able to grow up a healthy happy child.
Austin was diagnosed with SVT (Supra Ventricular Tachycardia) 7 months utero. Her mommy had to go to many extra doctor appts and spend some time in the hospital before she arrived into this world 14 days early. She continued having SVT after she was born and spent a week in the NICU at Norton's Children's Hospital. She continues to see her cardiologist and take medication for her SVT.
We are so thankful for the excellent care our family has received at Norton's Childrens Hospital. It makes us very proud to see the hard work of our Brave Hearts group pay off in what we now know as the Jennifer Lawrence Cardiac ICU Unit.
Please help us to continue to support Norton's Childrens Hospital.
Splash 'n' Dash challenges participants to raise funds, participate in a family friendly 5K or 1k water themed obstacle run and to celebrate our fundraising efforts at the finish line.
Every dollar raised goes directly to child care right here at home, at Norton Children’s Hospital. For more information, call (502) 629-8060.
