Bike to Beat Cancer 2017

Team Bryant

Welcome to our team page!

We're participating in the Bike to Beat Cancer, a cycling event to benefit Norton Cancer Institute. We want to make a difference for the thousands of people in our community touched by cancer. The funds we raise will stay right here, helping with prevention, early detection and treatment for this disease.

Many of us have been touched by cancer, either personally or through a friend or family member.

In 2009 Jackie Schembari attended an orientation for the Bike to Beat Cancer. She was inspired to ride and raise funds with Team Norton Cancer Institute. In 2002, she lost her 21 year old daughter to Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and since then has participated in various cancer fundraisers. For 2010, Jackie formed a team on her own for Bike to Beat Cancer made up of family and friends affected by cancer. Team Bryant grew again in 2011. During 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, Team Bryant has raised over $482,000 to support the Norton Cancer Institute.

According to the World Health Organization, there are more than 100 types of cancers and 30% could be cured if detected early and treated adequately.  Please help us again this year in the fight against cancer as we prepare for the 2017 Bike to Beat Cancer ride. We have over 30 team members so far this year, both riders and volunteers. Team Bryant will also be sponsoring a pit stop along the course of the ride. Any support you could offer will be much appreciated!

Please support our efforts to build hope and beat cancer! Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you to our great supporters at:

WLKY, WLEX, Koch Air, Republic Bank, Corken Steel, Monroe Shine, Literature Fulfillment Services, Weber & Rose and Little Giant Media!
