Welcome to My Personal Page
I'm joining hundreds of others to beat cancer by participating in the Bike to Beat Cancer, a one day cycling event to benefit Norton Cancer Institute. When I originally decided to do this event, it was a fun thing to do with 2 of my good friends and as oncology nurse, I have personally seen how fundraisers such as this can benefit patients.
But my reason to complete this Bike to Beat Cancer drastially changed on Monday May21st when I got "the call" from my doctor.... My registration process went from being a "Participant" to being a "Survivor". After my routine annual mammogram showed a suspicous area, a biopsy was done and I was diagnosed with stage 1 ER/PR + Her-2 - invasive ductal carcinoma. Neither my doctor or myself had felt anything on exam. I am incredibly thanful for a diligent radiologist and modern technology that allowed this to be found so early. PLEASE, if you are a woman, please don't skip that mammogram. Yes, it can be annoying and easy to put off, but I AM PROOF of how important it is. If I had waited a year, my treatment options would likely be much different than what I'm looking at now. The funds I raise will stay right here, helping with prevention, early detection, research and treatment and patient financial assistance.
Please support my efforts to build hope and beat cancer! Thank you in advance for your help.
