Mike Byrne's Bike to Beat Cancer Personal Page
Dear Friends and Family,
Again this year I'm joining hundreds of others to beat cancer by participating in the Bike to Beat Cancer, a one day cycling event in Louisville, Kentucky to raise critical funds to help prevent and beat cancer. I'll be riding the 35 mile course. I want to make a difference for the thousands of people touched by cancer. The funds I raise will help with prevention, early detection, research and treatment for this disease.
All of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another. We have friends and family who have won their battle over this disease, some who are currently fighting their battle, and, sadly, many who are no longer with us because of this dreaded disease.
My inspiration for this ride is my brother Gary. Gary has been a volunteer at Norton Children's Medical Center and Norton Children's Hospital for many years.
Gary is a devoted cyclist but more importantly is devoted to helping the kids in the hospitals where he volunteers.
For the past 4 years my brother Tom and I have ridden with Gary in the 35 mile ride. This year along with our nephew Darin, Gary's son, we are doing the same.
I am participating in this event to honor:
My sister-in-law Deb Seibert,
Our friend's little daughter Keira,
Our friend Debbie Lenning,
In memory of our friends Jim Beert, Roy Pankey, Bob Osborne
and all the others who have been affected.
I am asking you to help by supporting my fundraising efforts with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of so many people in our community! It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause – You can make your donation online by simply clicking the blue 'Donate Now' button on the right.
Please support my efforts to build hope and beat cancer! Thank you in advance for your help.
