Welcome to Nathan's page for the Bike to Beat Cancer 2018
I'm participating in the Bike to Beat Cancer, a one-day cycling event to benefit Norton Cancer Institute.
When my wife, Shannan, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in December 2012, we were referred to an oncologist at the Norton Cancer Institute. I had been contemplating riding in the Bike to Beat Cancer prior to Shannan's diagnosis. But, when the news came and Shannan started receiving what was truly excellent care at Norton, there was really no decision to be made. It's something I had to do. So I set my fundraising goal of $1,000 and set out to complete my very first-century ride (100 miles) as part of the Bike to Beat Cancer 2013.
I'm excited to report that, thanks to the generous support of folks like you, I have completed that 100 mile-ride for the past five years and have exceeded my fundraising goal every year.
This year, I'm focussing on continuing to pay it forward, to bring hope and support to others just like Shannan and complete that 100-mile ride for the sixth time. Together, we can make a difference!
Thanks, in advance, for your help and for being one of Shannan's Warriors!
