In Memory and Honor!
Seven years ago I began the journey with Bike to Beat Cancer and would have never imagined I'd still be participating in this event. But something happened during this journey that changed who I was and how I thought about cancer and the effect it has on people and their lives. Now I can't imagine not participating in this amazing event and helping those who are facing perhaps the most trying and challenging time in their lives.
In December of last year a colleague was Christmas shopping with his wife and had an episode that ultimately turned out to be caused by a cancerous brain tumor. He has had surgery to remove the tumor and has undergone chemo and radiation to kill what the surgeons could not remove. Now Mike is fighting to regain his life. This past week a friend buried his wife after a long battle with breast cancer. It seems that every day their is someone else I know who is being told they have cancer!
What can we do, how can we help? That is where Bike to Beat Cancer comes in! This is how I can do some small part to help those who are fighting for their lives. I take something I love to do and use it to help those in need. I ask you to partner with me by making a donation to help and I ride the 100 miles in Memory and Honor of those who have fought and are fighting this terrible disease.
It's a team effort... I can't do it alone and neither can you but, together we can make a difference! When Hope, Strength and Courage are needed the most what is done through Bike to Beat Cancer is there... because of you and your willingness to help with your donation.
Thanks in advance for whatever you are able to do! Tell others about this fight and have them visit my page and do whatever they can to help in this fight as we... "Bike to Beat Cancer!!!"
